The countdown to summer is on—and if you’re anything like me, you’re still trying to decide whether to keep the flannel sheets or finally switch to cotton. Welcome to June in the Lakes Region: where iced coffee and electric blankets still compete for your attention!

Whether you’re planting flowers, cruising Weirs Beach, or just daydreaming about a new front porch, June in Belknap County is packed with local events that are too good to miss. From hands-on nature workshops to high-energy concerts and Bike Week celebrations, this month’s calendar is full of ways to connect with your community, explore the outdoors, and support local.

Local Events in Belknap County – June 2025

Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center – Laconia

Prescott Farm is known for its down-to-earth, hands-on programs—and June is full of them:

  • Printing with a Pasta Press: June 7, 10am–noon

  • Writing in Nature: June 7, 10am–noon

  • Plants for First Aid & Plant Hazards: June 14, 10am–noon

  • How to Prepare for Hiking in NH: June 14, 1–3pm

  • Natural Salve for Stings & Rashes: June 21, 10am–noon

  • Homemade Dairy & Non-Dairy Ice Cream: June 28, 1–4pm

Perfect for nature lovers, homeschool families, and anyone who prefers their Saturdays with a side of science.

Belknap Mill – Laconia

Art, music, and heritage all in one beautiful spot:

  • First Friday Series: June 6 – Featuring Freese Brothers Big Band, artist Grace Howe, and a new museum exhibit

  • Introduction to Cable Knitting: Saturdays, June 7, 14 & 21 from 2–3:30pm

(And yes—I’m extra excited for First Friday this month because Grace is one of my former students! I can’t wait to see her artwork on display.)
