This season, New Hampshire offers an impressive lineup of Turkey Trots and Thanksgiving 5Ks across the state. From scenic courses in Portsmouth to community-centered races in Concord and the Lakes Region, there’s an event for every runner’s style. These Turkey Trots aren’t just about logging miles; they also give back to local charities and food pantries, making it a great way to enjoy the holiday spirit while staying active.
Gilford Youth Center Turkey Trot
This 5k race and family walk is being held on Thanksgiving morning through Gilford Village. For details, head on over to the GYC page.
Winnipesaukee Turkey Trot
Held in downtown Wolfeboro on Nov. 19, this classic 5K is a fun, scenic route around town. The event kicks off at 9:00 a.m., with proceeds donated to charity. Registration and event details can be found online through Wolfeboro Parks & Recreation.
Concord Turkey Trot
Hosted by the Bishop Brady High School on November 28, this 5K begins at 8:30 a.m. and supports Open Table. The route includes scenic portions of Concord, making it a popular trot for families and competitive runners alike. Check out details and registration here.
Dover Turkey Trot
Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving, this 5K has a fun, welcoming atmosphere and supports the Garrison School PTA. Many runners show up in themed costumes, adding to the community’s holiday spirit as they race from Garrison Elementary. Check them out here for more details and registration.
Jackson 5K Turkey Trot & Kids Fun Run
For a more rugged experience, join the Jackson Turkey Trot, which winds through the Jackson Falls Bridge and trails at Eagle Mountain Golf Course. Starting at 9:30 a.m., it’s an adventure on the trails, while kids can enjoy a 1K fun run earlier that morning. You can check out details here.
Hopkinton Thanksgiving Day 5K
Hosted by Hopkinton High School, this race kicks off at 8:00 a.m., with proceeds going to local programs. Preregistration is encouraged, though same-day sign-up is available from 6:30 a.m. Details can be found here.
Seacoast Rotary's 5k Turkey Trot in Portsmouth
This long-standing tradition takes place at Strawbery Banke, Portsmouth, on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds from this race support local nonprofits, and registration is currently open.
